Marjane Satrapi’s second late husband, Mattias Rapa, was born in Sweden back in 1972. He was trained as an economist before he decided to move to Paris for a university exchange program. He had met Marjane there for the first time, who was a young artist from Iran, and it was love at first sight for both of them. Mattias Rapa was Marjane’s love of her life, and reportedly, they were married for thirty-one years. The couple did not have kids but had a life between Paris and Sweden.

Mattias was known as a financier, producer, actor, and also co-screenwriter for Marjane.

Marjane Satrapi’s second husband, Mattias Rapa, was also seen in La Bande des Jotas as an actor and also a co-producer. He had also translated Persepolis: The Story of a Childhood back into English. A report by Closemag.fr stated that Mattias passed away at the age of 53, and his demise marked the end of their relationship of more than three decades.
