Diary of a CEO and Dragons’ Den star, Steven Bartlett, has been mocked by Vogue Williams after claiming two glasses of wine ‘ruined his life for three days’

Vogue Williams has taken a swipe at Steven Bartlett after he made a bold claim about a bit of booze. The Diary of a CEO star, 33, has amassed a huge following with his successful podcast and is also a Dragon on Dragons’ Den.

The entrepreneur doesn’t shy away from telling his listeners how to make the most out of their careers, but when Steven recently claimed two glasses of wine “ruined his life for three” days and left him unable to sleep, go to the gym or even record his podcast, mum-of-three, Vogue, 40, who is expecting her fourth child, had heard enough.

Steven explained in his latest podcast that the alcohol led to worse sleep that night, which then caused him to eat poorly the next day, feel less productive while podcasting, and skip gym sessions. He described this as a “domino effect” that lasted for three days, despite not getting drunk during the evening.

Discussing the controversial comments on her podcast with Joanne McNally, My Therapist Ghosted Me, Vogue said: “It feels like he’s not actually living his life. He said he had three glasses of wine and it ruined his life because it made him not optimal for three days.”

Claiming some people do their best work when hungover, she continued: “First of all, he said that he wasn’t able to podcast well, which I actually don’t agree with because I think when you’re hungover, you are on full fuego.”

Vogue joked: “I think you’re at your funniest when you’re hungover. I also think you’re at your best two drinks in. That’s when a human is at its best.”

The pals then spoke about Steven’s ‘obsession’ with his Whoop fitness tracker and the downfall from over-analysing health data.

Pointing out that Steven had been called out for being an “optimisation person” she said the entrepreneur had revealed his recovery time was 28%. Adding that she often sees a recovery time of 1% on her tracker because she only had two hours sleep yesterday, Vogue said she stopped using the app because it was “too judgemental”.

The Mirror has contacted Steven’s rep for comment on this story.
