Addressing the gathering, Dr. V.S. He explained that cancer occurs when cells change in size and shape and can affect anyone, from children to world leaders. He pointed out that new body lumps or unexpected bleeding from any organ are important warning signs requiring immediate medical attention and advised people to consult a doctor if blood comes from the nose, mouth, ears, stool, urine, or any other part of the body. He also noted that while cancer can be hereditary and detectable through BRCA genetic blood tests, early screening helps detect cancer in Stage 1, increasing the cure rate to 99%. He stressed that changing modern lifestyle habits is important in preventing Cancer
Dr. Sweta Agarwal emphasised that women should undergo a health check-up every year and suggested choosing their birth month as a reminder for annual screening. She said, “Prevention is better than Cure.”
The speakers appreciated the efforts of Project Chairman Sumer Tholia and the team members of MNJ Cancer Hospital in organising the Free Breast Cancer Screening Camp.
The camp is conducted from 10AM onwards to promote awareness and early detection of breast cancer among women. The organizers thanked all participants, doctors, volunteers, and supporters for making the initiative a success.
