Andhra Man Arrested in Raichur Burglary; Stolen Gold Worth ₹7.2 Lakh Recovered

Raichur: Raichur West police have arrested a man from Andhra Pradesh and recovered stolen gold ornaments worth ₹7.2 lakh while investigating a house burglary reported last year.

The accused, identified as Govindarajulu Dommara (39), a resident of Alur in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district, was taken into custody by a special police team constituted for the probe.

According to police, the burglary took place in the early hours of April 7, 2025, at a house in Prashanth Colony in Raichur city. Based on a complaint, Raichur West police registered a case and launched an investigation.

During the probe, police traced the accused and recovered a 25-gram gold necklace worth about ₹4.5 lakh, believed to have been stolen in the Raichur burglary. They also seized a 15-gram gold chain worth ₹2.7 lakh, allegedly linked to another theft case registered at Netajinagar police station.

The total value of the recovered property is estimated at ₹7.2 lakh.

The operation was carried out by a team led by Circle Inspector Umesh Kamble. Raichur Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri commended the investigating team for solving the case and recovering the stolen property.
