Soulja Boy’s Ex GF Plans To Sell His Music Residuals, Jane Doe Moves To Collect On A Court Judgment

Soulja Boy has built a big fan base with his rapping skills over the years. The artist has worked with record labels such as Stacks on Deck, Interscope, and more, and has been active since 2004. Also known as DeAndre Cortez Way, his first studio album was Souljaboytelle.com, released in 2007. The album took the fourth spot on the US Billboard 200. Soulja continued bringing more projects, including King Soulja 3, Loyalty, Best to Ever Do It, and more.

Meanwhile, Soulja Boy has recently come into the limelight after the latest reports claimed that his ex-girlfriend is allegedly aiming to sell his music residuals for certain reasons. Keep reading to know more!

Why does Soulja Boy’s ex-girlfriend want to sell his music residuals?

Soulja Boy’s former partner is asking the court to liquidate his music royalty rights so she can recover the millions he was ordered to pay her. As per the latest legal documents, the woman used to work for Soulja Boy in the past, and they dated for some time. Notably, she has claimed in the new filings that she wants to auction off Soulja’s rights to receive music royalty payments from Broadcast Music. She aims to sell the rights to the highest bidder.

While the woman’s identity remains a mystery, she has been referred to as Jane Doe in the court documents. She said that the sale will continue as planned if Soulja Boy does not contest. The woman has already been provided with USD 4 million after a jury found Soulja responsible for sexual battery, emotional distress, and many other allegations in April 2025. Jane Doe claimed in her complaint that her relationship with Soulja turned out to be abusive after it started.

Jane Doe alleged that Soulja confined her to a room and did not provide her with food for a long time. While Soulja dismissed the allegations against him, he claimed that he employed Jane Doe to prepare his blunts and accepted the fact that they were romantically linked. Although the jury’s decision was in favour of Jane Doe, she is now asking for payment on the judgment.

Jane Doe made many other allegations against Soulja Boy

The original lawsuit by Jane Doe against Soulja Boy was filed around five years ago, in January 2021. The woman accused the rapper of sexual assault. Notably, Soulja also did not pay her for her services as a personal assistant. Jane Doe allegedly started working for Soulja in 2018. She signed a deal at that time, based on which she was supposed to be paid USD 500 per week for the services that she would provide.

Although things were fine in the beginning, Soulja allegedly started sending snaps of his private part to the woman. Addressing the claims of being in a violent relationship with Soulja, Jane Doe claimed that there were several incidents. There was one case where she became unconscious after being attacked on the head. While Jane Doe approached the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office a month before filing the lawsuit, they did not take any action, as there was not enough evidence.

Jane Done received a compensation of USD 4 million in April 2025. On the other hand, Soulja spoke to Rolling Stone, saying that the district attorney never filed any charges and there was no criminal conviction against him. Apart from that, Soulja’s lawyer shared a separate statement which said:

“It is unfortunate that aspersions and misperceptions of a culture were allowed to influence the trial. Mr. Way fully intends to pursue his post-trial remedies and to fight for a just result in this case.”
