An offering from the Kota-based label’s latest collection, Tarini, this mulberry silk sari in bottle green and deep purple features floral and foliage motifs inspired by the Sundarbans, in zari made with real gold and silver. The sari is draped in a classic nivi style with the pallu pleated and pinned at the shoulder of her matching blouse. The blouse’s ’90s-inspired cap sleeve design also lends the look a retro mood, and is an indicator of the style’s revival in Indian wear in 2026.
Stylists Meagan Concessio and Shubhra Sharma completed the look with a polki necklace, earrings and bangles by Atarashi featuring multi-colour gemstones, alongside a statement cummerbund by Shree Raj Jewellers and a ring by Abhilasha Jewelry. Kapoor’s beauty look, created by Riviera Lynn, featured blushed cheeks, pink-toned lips and defined lashes. The half-up half-down hairstyle tied the South Indian sari look together.
From Vogue‘s fashion desk:
“This sari look seen on Janhvi Kapoor is the perfect inspiration for brides, especially South Indian, for their wedding day. The cummerbund is a great addition. Not only does it cinch the waist but it brings a traditional slant to the look,” says Ashwini Arun Kumar, Vogue India fashion features editor.
