Little Mix star Perrie Edwards revealed that she has ‘head cold from Satan’ after partying hard at wedding to Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain
Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards hit the Big Top stage on the opening day of the Isle of Wight festival while still recovering from her wedding to former England footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, just days ago. “Alright Isle of Wight!” she said, emerging in a sleek leather outfit, corset and t-shirt, shortly before Lewis Capaldi’s headline set.
“I have a head cold from Satan himself because I had a bit of a rowdy weekend, so to speak, because… I got married!”
The lovestruck singer heaped compliments on her new husband while introducing Cute Aggression . “Now some of you might not know this but I have this guy, right, and I am a little bit obsessed with him,” she said.
“So I’ve decided to write a song about his curly hair and his freckles… And I hope every single one of you can experience a love like that because that is the kind of love you deserve.”
The set of slick pop numbers proved a bold statement of intent, out to establish Edwards’ standing as a solo star to rival former bandmates Jade Thirwell and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
She leant heavily on last year’s solo debut album Perrie , performing Punchline and Woman in Love for the first time to an adoring reception.
To please her throngs of girlband fans, she also found time for a medley of Little Mix songs including Shout Out to My Ex , Black Magic and Touch .
This comes after Perrie broke her silence over her long-running feud with former Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson. Jesy left the group back in 2020, claiming mental health issues for her reason to quit.
But during her podcast chat with Jamie Laing, Perrie boldly said: “What annoys me the most, and again I have to be careful how I say this as I don’t want to seem like a b**** but for me what upsets me the most is when situations like this happen and the other person doesn’t take any accountability. That boils my blood!”
She added: “I am not blaming everything on you, I am not saying that she’s this f***ing monster and everything was her fault blah, blah, blah but take some accountability for your actions and realise you were difficult, you did have difficult moments.
“Granted there were reasons for those moments but you can only pick someone up so many f***ing times before you start losing track of your own sanity.”
