Kakinada: The state education department on Monday ordered the closure of a Narayana school in Bhimavaram as it allegedly conducted classes without permissions.
According to West Godavari district educational officer E. Narayana, the institution had commenced classes without securing approval for the school and its academic operations. The classes were conducted before the construction of the school buildings was completed.
Complaints had been lodged by leaders of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), which staged protests against the institution four days ago.
Officials, including the mandal education officer and the deputy inspector of schools, visited the campus on Monday and ordered its closure while classes were in progress.
SFI leaders demanded that urban development minister P Narayana, whom it identified as the proprietor of the educational institutions, resign from his ministerial post and focus his attention on running the institutions.
