
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has appointed Sanjay Jaju as the new Chief Secretary to the state.
According to G.O.Rt. No. 911 issued by the General Administration (Spl-A) Department on June 26, 2026, the 1992-batch IAS officer will take over from K. Ramakrishna Rao, who is set to retire from service on June 30.
The appointment will come into effect following the retirement of the incumbent Chief Secretary.
On Tuesday, Jaju was relieved from Central deputation and repatriated to his parent cadre.
Jaju has had one of the longest stints in Central services among Telangana cadre officers, lasting nearly 13 years. During this period, he held several key assignments, including secretary in the Union ministry of information and broadcasting. Ahead of his repatriation, he as secretary, ministry of development of northeastern region (DoNER).
