Arsenal have confirmed winger Leandro Trossard is poised to join Besiktas after agreeing a fee with the Turkish club.

Trossard, who moved to the Emirates in January 2023, played a key role in the Gunners’ Premier League title success last season, scoring a late winner as Mikel Arteta’s men won 1-0 at West Ham in a crunch game in May.

Besiktas are reported to be paying a fee in the region of £17million for the 31-year-old.

An Arsenal statement read: “We can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard.

“With a transfer fee agreed, Leo, 31, has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of his move to the Turkish Super Lig club.

“We will provide a further update once the transfer has been completed.”

Arsenal to target Rogers after selling Trossard

Trossard is already undergoing talks with Besiktas and personal terms are not expected to be a problem.

The move has been mooted for some time but was delayed by Trossard’s involvement in the World Cup with Belgium.

Arsenal are keen to strengthen their wide options this summer and are believed to have a strong interest in Aston Villa’s England international Morgan Rogers.
