Peter Crouch has always been adamant that his family with Abbey Clancy is complete, but the broody former model admitted to her husband that she would “love a newborn”
Four children would be more than enough for most people, but Abbey Clancy made a candid newborn confession to husband Peter Crouch.
The celebrity couple already share four kids, with the youngest being seven-year-old Jack. They also have Sophia Ruby, 15, Liberty Rose, 11, and Johnny, eight.
Former England international footballer Peter has previously said their family won’t be expanding as having four kids “was a ridiculous decision”.
But Abbey doesn’t appear to have been put off by looking after all four kids solo while Peter was working as a pundit at the World Cup.
The former model, 40, admitted she would love to have a newborn around the house. She even cited examples like Sienna Miller and the actress’s sister of ‘older women having babies’.
Speaking on an episode of The Therapy Crouch podcast, she said: “There’s so many older women have babies now, and I’d love a newborn.” Looking a bit taken aback, Peter responded: “Would you really?”
Abbey continued: “Sienna Miller’s sister’s pregnant, she’s like 47. Sienna Miller, just had a baby (at the age of 44).”
The ex-Liverpool star, 45, then joked: “Fair play. Are they on second marriages.”
Peter worked as a pundit for FOX Sports during the recent World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. This meant some time apart from the family, but last week they were reunited when Abbey flew out with the children to watch the World Cup final in New York.
But their reunion wasn’t without its issues, as one of their children was almost arrested at the airport over a gun joke. After landing in the Big Apple, eldest daughter Sophia made a comment about a gun being linked to her fingerprints.
It caught the attention of border force officials at the arrivals hall, who aren’t renowned for their sense of humour.
Abbey told the podcast: “Those immigration officers are not fun. You cannot crack a joke with them. Sophia renewed her passport since she last visited the US, and she had to do her fingerprints.
“Sophia was like ‘Why do I have to do fingerprints? Is that in case there are fingerprints on the gun?’ They were like ‘Sorry Miss, what did you say? What fingerprints on the gun?’ and then she was like ‘There’s guns here and you could have my fingerprints…’ and they were like ‘What? your fingerprints are on a gun?'”
The mum-of-four continued: “I was like ‘No, my daughter is not saying her fingerprints are on a gun’, she’s saying ‘Is that how you catch criminals, if fingerprints are on a gun?'”
In a previous episode of The Therapy Crouch, Peter admitted “we can bicker” as the couple opened up on long-distance relationships.
He said: “I’ll tell you why it doesn’t work for us. It’s because we love each other and we spend a lot of time together, and we have fun together.
“So, where we are apart – I resonate with this – I resonate with the fact that yeah, the little arguments and that; we can bicker. But with regards to long-distance relationships, I totally get it.”
Abbey Clancy: Celebrity Homes airs today (Friday, July 24) on ITV from 7.30pm to 8pm.
