Pete Wicks has addressed his “private life” while opening up about his recent “hard launch” with Olivia Attwood. Pete made the remarks while discussing finally going official with Love Island star Olivia earlier this month.
In a series of snaps from Ibiza, Pete and Olivia were seen kissing and cuddling after reportedly trying to keep the romance out of the spotlight. Now the cat’s out of the bag, an important “question” has arisen.
Speaking on a recent instalment of the Staying Relevant podcast (July 27), Pete disclosed to close pal Sam Thompson that he and Olivia had been locked in a “debate” over each other’s podcasts.
Pete said: “Now it’s out. It’s fine; we’re good. It does bring us on to the big question, which has been in debate for a little while between Liv and I. Who does whose podcast first?”
Sam replied: “I don’t wanna get pushy, Pete, but I feel like ours has been going a little longer. And I feel like she’s been on this pod before; she’s a friend of the pod.”
He asked him to help two “struggling lads out.” Pete conceded they were indeed “struggling”, saying: “Maybe you could do a plea?” Afterwards, the pair shared a jokey back-and-forth about Olivia appearing on the podcast without Pete.
Sam went on to say: “I imagine, though – cos Pete is now a puppy dog – he’ll be on hers imminently.”
It prompted Pete to address something “personal”. He said: “And listen; you know, regardless. Yes, it’s out there, but at this point, you know, still, private life is still private. Maybe we shouldn’t do the podcast.”
Sam noted they had “time”, in fact, “forever”. Pete added: “Well, we’ve got forever or until I die”. Sam joked: “Exactly, till death do us part.”
It comes after Olivia’s split from footballer husband Bradley Dack earlier this year, two years into their marriage. Fans had long suspected she and Pete were dating, but the pair had kept quiet about their relationship status.
In one photo, Pete and Olivia lie together on a yacht. Another showed Olivia lying in Pete’s lap as he kissed her head. In the caption, he wrote: “I guess someone has to go first…IBIZA [black heart emoji].”
Elsewhere in the podcast, Pete and Sam chatted about his post, with Sam asking him about his thought process. Pete replied: “Er, yeah, the thought process was what would Liv like… We’d spoken about it and I thought ‘ah f*** it’ you know let’s go and do it.
“Obviously, the first photo had to be of me and Liv, and all I really cared about was I didn’t embarrass her.”
