Sophie Kasaei has admitted that her partner Jordan Brook’s battle with meningitis, which meant he briefly couldn’t walk or speak, shortly before the birth of their son, left her with anxiety
Sophie Kasaei has admitted that she was left struggling with anxiety after a traumatic few months. In the lead up to the birth of her son Brody, Sophie’s boyfriend Jordan Brook was left unable to speak or walk whilst battling viral meningitis.
In an Instagram post, Sophie, 36, shared that she was starting to feel “more like me” after being struck with anxiety. She shared pictures of herself out at brunch with fellow former Geordie Shore stars Abbie Holborn and Nathan Henry, and said in the caption: “Finally feeling a little more like me.
“8 weeks postpartum and I’m starting to come out the other side. Still riddled with anxiety when I leave the house but it’s getting better. Little brunch in the sun for my girls birthday then back home for Bath and bed time.”
She added that she was still trying to find a “balance” as a new mum. “This is all new!” she continued. “But Im starting to feel more like me again after trying for a baby for all them years and then being pregnant. Still early days and one step at a time.”
Several of Sophie’s fellow reality TV stars hopped in the comments to share their support for Sophie. Chloe Meadows, who was on The Only Way Is Essex, commented that Sophie was a “pretty gal”, while Love Island‘s Gabby Allen put a heart eyes emoji. Love Island season four star Ellie Brown said: “You look lovely Soph.”
In recent TOWIE scenes, Sophie recounted what happened stince Jordan was hospitalised after swelling on his brain. “I went to the hospital days later and looked at him on the bed and he couldn’t even look me in the eyes – he was just like asleep,” she said. “He was non-verbal because his brain was swelling at such a rapid rate so it was putting pressure on the brain and on his skull.”
She explained that she would sit by his bedside for most of the day because she was scared to leave him. Breaking down in tears, she said he still wasn’t the same after his ordeal.
“He’s got scarring on his brain. The front part of his brain is scarred and his moods will be like really up and down,” she said through sobs. “And he’ll be really emotional and he’ll get quite forgetful and he’s obviously got like a limp now so he can’t really do much.”
Turning her mind to their son, who was born shortly afterwards, she said: “I don’t think we would have got through it without this little boy inside. I think that’s what kept him strong.”
When announcing Brody’s birth the pair shared a snap to Instagram and wrote: “A moment we had dreamed of for so long. We can’t believe he is finally here, healthy and happy. Baby, Brody Jordan Daryll Brook. Born 11/06/26. You are our little miracle who has completed us. Mummy and Daddy love you.”
Commenting underneath the post, Jordan said: “The most amazing feeling I have ever felt. My Boy, you are my everything and more. I can’t wait to show you this big wide world. My @sophiekasaei_ thank you for giving me the world. I adore you.”
