Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has intensified action against those misusing drinking water and imposed Rs.20,000 fine on a resident of Jubilee Hills.
Officials found that a consumer residing at Road No. 23 in Jubilee Hills was using drinking water for floor cleaning. The water board imposed and collected Rs.20,000 penalty from the consumer.
The Board appealed to citizens to use drinking water responsibly and avoid wastage, stating that action would be taken as per rules against those found misusing potable water for other purposes.
Residents can report cases of drinking water misuse to the Board through WhatsApp at +91 99499 30003, officials said.
