Hyderabad: BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar along with AICC in-charge secretary Sachin Sawant performed special prayers at Khairatabad Ganesh idol here on Sunday.
Apart from Ponnam Prabhakar, former MLA Danam Nagender and other dignitaries were also present. Several dignitaries continued to throng Khairatabad Ganesh idol since commencement of the festival on September 14.
Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla was among the dignitaries who offered special prayers at Khairatabad.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad police made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth darshan of Lord Ganesha. Barricades were placed in the lanes connecting Khairatabad to ensure proper queue system and order.
Devotees were allowed only after checking them with the help of door frame metal detectors.
