Away from the film and TV sets, actor Douglas Booth is loved-up with his famous wife

Douglas Booth is back on screen for ITV’s The Blame – but it turns out he is married to a fellow famous face.
The actor has been in the business for years, after shooting to fame playing Boy George in BBC’s Worried About the Boy in 2020. Since then, he has starred in films such as The Riot Club, Romeo and Juliet, and 2012’s LOL, alongside Miley Cyrus.
Currently, he is playing Tom Radley in ITV’s new gripping drama The Blame – created and written by Megan Gallagher (All Her Fault, Wolf ) – that follows corruption and systemic misogyny in the police force.
The ensemble cast includes Michelle Keegan as detective Emma Crane, Ian Hart as DCI Kenneth Walker, Nathan Mensah as DC Lewis, Nigel Boyle, who previously starred in BBC’s Line of Duty, as Brett Shergill.
Away from the TV sets though, Douglas is loved-up with his wife and actress Bel Powley. Bel is best known for roles in CBBC’s M.I. High, Everything I Know about Love and ITV’s Benidorm.
She also played Claire Conway in The Morning Show from 2019 to 2025 and is currently portraying Petunia Dursley in the upcoming new Harry Potter television series.
Douglas and Bel first met at a chemistry read audition over 10 years ago, with Bel revealing to Hollywood Authentic: “I was so excited. Doug was really famous, and I remember telling my girlfriends.”
Bel continued: “In the scene, they kissed, and I was like, ‘Should we just do it for real?’ And we kissed in the audition. Doug didn’t get the part, and I got the part.”
Three years later, in 2016, they worked together on the film Mary Shelley and a romance quickly blossomed. Douglas added to the publication: “I remember, on the first-ever night out, we were in Dublin. I took a picture of Bel and I wrote on Instagram, ‘I love her’… And the rest is history.”
Going from strength to strength Douglas proposed to Bel in July 2021 on Primrose Hill in London. Talking to British Vogue, Bel spoke about the engagement: “I was so surprised.
“He set up a picnic with all my favourite foods from Panzer’s Deli – bagels, smoked salmon, chopped herring, egg mayonnaise, and caviar. We drank Champagne and Bloody Marys, then he took my family and best friend to dinner at the Ivy. I couldn’t stop crying!”
Then in October 2023, Douglas and Bel made things official by getting married at Petersham Nurseries in Richmond.
The Blame airs on Sunday 20th September at 9pm on ITV1.
