Teen accused of planning violent attack, having extremist material

A teenager is accused of planning a fatal attack north of Brisbane.

Police said they found plans for a local attack on people and violent extremist material when counter-terror officers raided a home in Maryborough, 215 kilometres north of Brisbane, on August 27.

Several electronic devices were seized during the raid.

The boy was also charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

He is expected to appear in the Brisbane Childrens Court on Tuesday.
