Rani Mukerji’s mother, Krishna Mukerji, passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 75. She was known for her stint as a playback singer across multiple movies such as Haiwan (1977) and Teesri Aankh (1982). Krishna Mukerji was married to veteran director Ram Mukerji, who passed away in 2017.
Krishna’s last rites were carried out at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu. Rani Mukerji, along with some close friends and family members were present at the location. Even some prominent industry figures, including Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt, Farhan Akhtar, Avinash Gowariker, Jaideep Ahlawat, Karan Johar and Anil Kapoor, among many others, were present to pay their respects.
