Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has steadily been creeping into the horror and fantasy realm, with some stepping stones from the past, including Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship (2020) and Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva (2022).
Not only that, but the production house also has a series of huge projects lined up for the future, such as Odiyan: The Age of Illusion and Naagzilla. All of these are lined up to have their theatrical releases in 2027 for now.
Another ambitious project under the banner of Dharma Productions, titled Vishkanya, has got some enticing updates. As per reports from Bollywood Hungama, Rajkummar Rao and Pratibha Ranta will be headlining Vishkanya.
The film will be directed by Sonal Joshi, who previously made her debut with the comedy-drama Sukhee in 2023. Vishkanya will feature a rich tale infusing elements of horror and fantasy. The story and plot, however, remain under wraps for now. However, there are reports that suggest that the movie will explore a mythical realm. As of now, there is no official release date announced for its release.
Pratibha Ranta made a promising debut with her breakout role in Laapata Ladies opposite Vibe’s Sparsh Shrivastava. She was last seen in The Revolutionaries opposite some prominent names including Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf and Gurfateh Pirzada.
Rajkummar Rao, on the other hand, has enjoyed a long career in Bollywood, coming from humble beginnings to etching his name amongst the greats to ever do it. He will next be seen in Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam, due to release on October 16. He will also be playing Saurav Ganguly in his upcoming biographical depiction titled Dada.
