The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth finally has its first official trailer made public. Prior to the release of the title announcement three weeks back, fans were left anticipating further news for the spin-off. While Once Upon A Time in Hollywood was directed by the legendary Quentin Tarantino, he will not be taking the helm for the spin-off. Instead, the movie will be directed by David Fincher, with Tarantino aiding as the writer.
This also helps Tarantino’s long-standing rule of only ever directing 10 movies across his lifetime. Counting his last, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), he has now directed a total of nine movies.
Coming to the trailer, we see more glimpses of the calm yet psychotic infused personality of Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Led Zeppelin’s track Black Dog further complements the trailer with the right mix of hard rock and blues. Alongside Brad, there are a list of new additions to this interesting world, including Timothy Olyphant, Carla Gugino, Scott Caan, Elizabeth Debicki and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, among many others.
There is also an interesting reference to the protagonist of the first movie, Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio). He is asked why he no longer works for Rick, to which his answer states, “Oh, Rick got too fat for me to double him anymore.” This, however, does not cast aside the possibility of seeing Leonardo make a surprise cameo to further intensify the plot.
Brad Pitt is surely having an exciting year, with another release starring him scheduled for release this week. On September 25, 2026, he will be seen in Heart of the Beast, wherein he and his combat dog will have to navigate their way through a treacherous path following their plane crashing into the Alaskan wilderness.
