Nellore: A Defence Ammunition Cluster is coming up at Allampadu village in Marripadu mandal of Atmakur constituency in Nellore district, with four companies being considered for land allotment. Ashtra Industries Pvt. Ltd., Munish Defence Solutions Ltd., Sunshine Industries Pvt. Ltd., and Valeth Group have proposed investments ranging from ₹190 crore to ₹500 crore. Land parcel consent has been given to Ashtra Industries, Munish Defence Solutions and Sunshine Industries. Allotment of land to Valeth Group is being evaluated.
Ashtra Industries has proposed an investment of ₹190 crore to manufacture commercial and defence explosives on the 450 acres of land allotted to it. Its Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been submitted and is under evaluation. It is expected to create 500 jobs. Munish Defence Solutions has proposed a ₹500-crore defence ammunition manufacturing unit over 250 acres of land, generating 500 jobs. Its DPR is under evaluation. Sunshine Industries has proposed a ₹466-crore investment to develop and manufacture integrated defence energetics. The project spread over 454 acres is expected to provide employment to 300 people.

A site visit has been completed, while the proposed land parcels are under evaluation. Consent is yet to be given. APIIC zonal manager L. Sivakumar and Industries deputy director P. Sridhar, who are involved in the land allocation process, pointed out that the Defence Ammunition Cluster at Duttalur mandal in Udayagiri constituency also has major projects, including Premier Explosives Ltd., Anadrone Systems Pvt. Ltd., Ananth Technologies Ltd., and Aditya Precitech Pvt. Ltd.
Premier Explosives has been allotted 400 acres for its ammunition manufacturing project, with a proposed investment of ₹500 crore and 2,050 jobs. Anadrone Systems has been allotted nearly 350 acres for a defence ammunition and raw materials plant, involving a proposed investment of ₹220 crore and 350 jobs.
Aditya Precitech, a Hyderabad-based precision engineering firm supplying components to defence and aerospace programmes, has proposed a ₹500-crore investment on 250 acres to manufacture high-precision defence and aerospace components. Site visits have been completed and preparation of DPR is under way.
Ananth Technologies, which has been allotted 300 acres at Duttalur for its aerospace and defence electronics project, has requested APIIC to cancel the allotment and provide 350–400 acres at Routhu Suramala in Tirupati district instead.
SPSR Nellore district collector Himanshu Shukla said the Duttalur area of Udayagiri constituency is developing as a defence and aerospace manufacturing destination.
“Nellore has vast tracts of barren, non-agricultural land available at competitive prices, making it an attractive destination for defence industries,” Shukla emphasised. .
