VIJAYAWADA: Police have intensified their inquiry to identify those involved in Monday’s agitation and clashes between YSRC supporters and newly recruited DSC-2025 teachers at the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) office.
Police are examining CCTV footage from the site of the clashes, cameras in the surrounding areas and other video footage to identify those involved.
According to sources, police have identified around 260 persons. Digital evidence has been collected against about 230 of them and cases have been registered. Police have arrested 12 persons so far and formed special teams to trace the other accused.
Of the 260 persons identified, police found that 45 were rowdy sheeters, 71 were trouble mongers, 46 were active members of political parties and 91 had previous criminal cases.
Police also found that eight MLCs, five former MLAs, three former ministers, four mayors, former mayors and deputy mayors had taken part in the agitation.
