Kurnool: Kurnool’s diamond belt has once again attracted attention after a farm labourer reportedly found a valuable diamond in a field at Marella village in Tuggali mandal.
The labourer, who was working in the field, showed the stone to a local diamond trader. After examining its quality, the trader purchased it for Rs.3 lakh. The find brought cheer to the labourer’s family.
The areas around Tuggali, Jonnagiri, Pagidirai and Marella are known for diamonds being found in the soil, particularly after the first rains.
Following news of the latest discovery, villagers and traders have started arriving in Marella, while farmers and labourers have intensified their search for diamonds in the surrounding fields.
