Simone Biles has revealed that her car was stolen by three masked thieves. The Olympic gymnast took to TikTok to share that she was looking for a new car after being the victim of a crime, but also joked that she “needs a reality TV show” because the things that happen to her are “insanity”.
Speaking to the camera as she prepared to pick up her new car, Simone, 29, said: “I feel like I need a new car because during our last few months in Chicago, three men in masks came to our house and stole my Porsche. But that’s another story. If you guys wanna know, I’ll do a story time on that.
“I feel like I need a reality TV show. The things that happen to me are absolutely insanity. And so it would be really easy for producers to just film regularly. That is one of the reasons why we also got our Dobermann.”
The gymnast also assured fans that her car had been returned, saying in the caption of her video: “Yes we recovered the car, onto the next.”
The car Simone and her husband, Jonathan Owens, ended up getting was a Porsche Cayenne GTS. She shared that she knew she wanted a Porsche but wasn’t keen on the prices and decided to look at Audi instead, because one of their cars was the “same engine, half the price”.
But when driving the car, she wasn’t happy. “I didn’t like the way it drove,” she said. “And I’m not about to manhandle a car.” As such, they went back to Porsche and tried the Cayenne GTS.
Simone gushed about the car, saying: “Baby, when they turned that thing on, I was sold. I felt like Tiffany Haddish from Girls Trip: ‘Give it to me! I want it! Give it to me!'”
Fans immediately took to the comments to express their concern for Simone and to say they understood why she wanted a new car, even though they’d gotten the stolen one back. One fan wrote: “If someone stole my car, I don’t even want it back. It’s such a gross and personal violation.”
A second said: “This happened to me, it was literally found a mile down the road from my house stuck in a field. Took a month to get it back from the police and repairs, but I just cried everytime I drove it.” Another added: “Somebody stole ur car!!!! Wtfff” To which Simone responded: “How rude and inconsiderate”.
Others joked that they definitely wanted a Simone Biles reality TV series. One said: “Where can we petition for a Simone Biles reality show?”
Over the years, Simone has built up a huge following of 12million on Instagram and 5.6million on TikTok. She won over the US by competing in Olympic gymnastic events, taking home 11 medals. With 30 World Championships also added to her belt, she is the most decorated gymnast in history.
