Vijayawada:Andhra Pradesh government will issue a gazette notification on Thursday for the issue of fresh applications for allotment of liquor retail shops (A4) for notified indisposed as well as non-notified shops.
As per the new schedule, the last date for submission of fresh applications is October 1 up to midnight. The scrutiny of applications will be on October 3 and the draw of lots on October 5.
The Excise department had notified a total of 3,650 A4 shops for renewal in the state. 2,906 of these shops made their payments for renewal of their retail excise tax (RET). Of these 2,873 shops made full payment while 33 made partial payment.
In other words, 88.7 per cent notified shops opted for renewal of which 80 per cent made full payment.
With regard to district-wise payment percentage for notified liquor retail shops, East Godavari recorded highest at 97.1, followed by Alluri Sitarama Raju 94.7, Sri Satya Sai 91.8, Konaseema 91.1, and Eluru 91. Percentage of those shops that did not make the full payment included Guntur 64.5, Bapatla 68.8, and Visakhapatnam 69.
AP Excise authorities have directed deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and district prohibition and excise officers to monitor progress up to midnight on September 23 and ensure maximum disposal of renewal applications.
Liquor retail shops (A4), which pay 100 per cent of renewal RET by midnight of September 23 will be considered for renewal of their licenses. These licensees will be given two days’ time to pay the annual RET and permit room RET.
