At MM6 this season, nothing got redesigned so much as persuaded to behave differently: a shirt folded down into a dress without losing its shirt-like feel, trousers turned into a miniskirt, and sweaters moved freely between being worn as a top or a skirt, sometimes with a little extra volume from what the studio nicknamed a “hip-paulette”—a playful, hip-level cousin of the shoulder epaulette. Nothing here was permanently transformed; it was more about letting each piece reveal its split personality, guilt-free.
The mood felt lighter than usual for the house, almost accidentally pretty—doll-like proportions, tiny Henleys, washed-out peacoats and little vintage-style shorts appeared alongside dresses folded over themselves so you could see exactly how they were constructed—like a childhood dress-up game, just with a bit more thought behind it.
Menswear followed the same idea, only more literally. Collars and button plackets shifted from the centre of shirts to the side. A tuxedo trouser’s signature stripe turned up on the inside instead. The house’s familiar low-slung trousers got slimmed down into something noticeably skinnier, while double belts and shifted proportions kept things looking just slightly, deliberately, off.
And then, just for fun: six Havaianas flip-flops stacked on top of each other like a rubber layer cake—a cheeky nod to the number six in the brand’s own name.
The wardrobe itself stayed reassuringly familiar—tailoring, biker jackets, t-shirts, and trousers. It was only the coordinates that moved—as the brand put it, this was about reality, but a version of reality that’s far from boring: one that’s a little joyful, a little surprising, and makes you want to get dressed just because it’s fun. You don’t need new clothes to feel new—just give the ones you already own a little room to misbehave.
