GK Barry has said she felt like The Chase’s Bradley Walsh “hated” her when the pair met. The Loose Women panellist said she didn’t think the presenter of The Chase was taken by her when the pair lined up alongside each other for Soccer Aid for Unicef.
She made the bold claim on her podcast, Saving Grace. Chatting with guest Chloe Burrows, the pair opened up about meeting him at the event. GK claimed: “Bradley Walsh hated me and Chloe. If there was a word for more than hated, it would be that.”
She went on: “Do you remember we walked out and he was there and I went, ‘I love The Chase’ and he went ‘get your boots on’. I was like… S**t.”
Chloe jumped in to joke: “Has anyone told him it’s for charity? For a laugh? To raise money for Unicef? A really important cause?”
And she bluntly added: “We’re not in the Prem,” before GK opened up on another awkward moment. The former I’m A Celeb star went on to share a story about how they had to speak on the microphones for a social media video.
She recalled the ITV presenter screamed “Quick. Get them back on.” And she said it left her thinking “F***ing hell.”
GK, went viral for missing a pass from her Soccer Aid teammate Tom Grennan because she was too busy doing a celebration dance on the pitch at this year’s contet.
The ball sailed past her moments after she was subbed on as a midfielder. But she was swiftly subbed off back off.
Away from the pitch, GK has been making herself comfortable on panel show Loose Women. An ITV schedule shake-up means the show now airs just 30 weeks of the year, but GK vowed to stay for “as long as they want me”.
She recently said: “I love Loose Women. I always look forward to doing a show on there because it’s always such good vibes. The women are hilarious. It is nice that we’ve still got a show on daytime TV that’s just women-focused. You can’t beat it.”
The same year she joined Loose Women, GK jetted to Australia for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, in the series where Coleen Rooney was runner-up to Danny Jones. She came fifth.
And she said Coleen helped her during Soccer Aid. She said super-WAG Coleen helped to inspire her viral moment at Soccer Aid when they met up at the TV football clash’s training camp.
GK explains, “She came on the last day with the kids to see Wayne [who also played] so I cornered her and asked her for help because I wasn’t very good at football.
“She didn’t give me any tips but she did just say, ‘Think of the bar afterwards.’ I just thought, ‘That’s a great way to think about it.’ And I did.”
