Arsenal forward Kai Havertz and Bayern Munich‘s Jamal Musiala both underwent scans after suffering injuries on Germany duty, Die Mannschaft boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed.
Havertz played half an hour of Germany’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday before being forced off through injury.
Bayern forward Musiala withdrew from the squad for the game because of a muscle injury sustained in the warm-up.
And, with Klopp conceding he is unlikely to have either available for Sunday’s clash with Greece, both Arsenal and Bayern now face a nervous wait to learn the extent of the respective injuries.
“Both are currently undergoing an MRI,” Klopp said on RTL.
“I hope we get the diagnosis [on Thursday] evening. But of course, this isn’t great.
“I hope it’s nothing serious. The lads are probably out for us. But hopefully, they’ll be back in action relatively quickly.”
Musiala has two goals and an assist in four games for Bayern this season.
Havertz already has two Premier League goals to his name this campaign having also scored in Arsenal’s Community Shield win over Manchester City.
The Gunners trail City by three points at the top of the table following last weekend’s defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.
And, with Viktor Gyokeres struggling to make an impact for the Gunners up front, a serious injury to Havertz would be a significant blow to Arsenal’s hopes of retaining the Premier League title.
Arsenal return to action against Leeds United on October 10. Bayern resume their Bundesliga campaign at Augsburg on the same day.
