Dulquer Salmaan has called out an X account that he says has been impersonating him, urging social media users not to mistake the profile for his official account.
The actor-producer addressed the issue on Sunday after noticing that users were treating posts from the handle @_dulQuer as statements made by him. While the account describes itself as a parody profile, Dulquer said it has been repeatedly posting and interacting with people in a manner that makes it appear as though he is behind the account.
“Kindly requesting everyone to stop believing @_dulQuer to be my real account,” Dulquer wrote on X. He then explained why he felt the need to publicly clarify the matter. “This account claims to be a ‘parody account’ and therefore feels it’s amusing to pretend to be me and comment as me on everything,” he said.

According to Dulquer, the account has not merely been making parody comments about films or other actors. He claimed that it has also interacted with people while presenting itself as him, creating the possibility that those posts could be mistaken for his actual views.
“Whether it’s writing about movies or about other actors to even writing fake wishes to my own family members,” the actor said, adding that the activity was “causing unnecessary confusion and negativity.”
The reference to his family appears to have been particularly significant, with Dulquer pointing out that the account had allegedly posted messages involving members of his family, including his father and veteran actor Mammootty.
Dulquer also revealed that he has already attempted to address the issue through X’s reporting mechanisms. “I’ve already reported this account and filed an official complaint but still awaiting a response from @X,” he wrote.
His post was essentially a request for followers to exercise caution before attributing statements to him, particularly when they come from accounts that are not his official profile. The clarification comes at a busy point in Dulquer’s career. The actor was recently seen in I’m Game, directed by Nahas Hidhayath, which marked his return to Malayalam cinema as a lead actor after a three-year gap. The action thriller also featured Antony Varghese, Mysskin, Kayadu Lohar and others.
Dulquer has several projects lined up across languages. His next release is Pavan Sadineni’s Aakasamlo Oka Tara, a Telugu romantic drama co-starring debutant Satvika Veeravalli. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on November 20.
