Megastar Chiranjeevi is reportedly preparing for a major digital leap, with a multi-episode celebrity talk show for Netflix. The venture will see the veteran actor move from the big screen to the interviewer’s chair, hosting candid conversations with prominent names from the film industry.

Netflix had initially proposed a documentary, but Chiranjeevi is said to have preferred a podcast-style talk show that would allow him to speak freely about his personal experiences, professional challenges and decades-long journey in cinema. The format is expected to offer an informal, unfiltered space for conversations, moving beyond conventional celebrity interviews and promotional appearances.

Sushmita and BVS Ravi’s idea

The concept was reportedly brought to Chiranjeevi by his daughter, producer Sushmita Konidela, and writer-director BVS Ravi. The multi-episode series is expected to feature high-profile guests from the film industry, with conversations spanning cinema, personal journeys and life beyond the limelight.

Industry sources claim the deal has been finalised and that Chiranjeevi is set to receive a substantial fee, reportedly close to Rs 200 crore. Netflix and the actor’s team are yet to officially confirm the details.

Balayya set the conversation rolling

Nandamuri Balakrishna helped popularise the celebrity talk-show format in Telugu entertainment with Unstoppable with NBK on Aha. The show’s informal conversations with stars such as Prabhas, Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan offered audiences a glimpse of their personalities beyond their carefully managed public images. Balakrishna’s spontaneous style and candid exchanges helped establish the appeal of long-form celebrity conversations among Telugu audiences.

Rana’s digital storytelling

Rana Daggubati has also made his mark in the space with The Rana Daggubati Show on Amazon Prime Video. The actor-producer has brought together personalities from cinema and other creative fields for conversations on filmmaking, personal experiences and the changing entertainment landscape.

His work reflects the growing appetite for long-form digital content that allows celebrities to explore subjects beyond the usual promotional circuit.
