Michelle Keegan’s husband, Mark Wright, has admitted that despite his wife’s love of a good party, he had to put his foot down in response to her latest plans, claiming he doesn’t like the “mess” that’s leftover in their home the following day.
Mark, who shot to fame on The Only Way Is Essex, tied the knot with The Blame actress at a celebrity-packed wedding in Bury St Edmunds in 2015, and together they share one daughter, Palma Elizabeth Wright.
The reality star shared a rare insight into how the couple’s marriage has changed since welcoming their first baby in a chat with Heart FM co-star, Olly Murs. Speaking on their Saturday Breakfast show, Mark opened up about an upcoming family holiday and celebrating Halloween.
Olly let slip that he’d just returned from a “lovely” family trip to Turkey, the first they’d taken with just him, his wife, Amelia Murs, and their two children, Madison and Albert.
He admitted the trip had some “tough moments”, but it was an “unbelievable week”. Mark said: “And I suppose with these kind of holidays…cos we’re going to the same place with Palma.
“And it’s the first time we’re going to go away properly for, like, a longer period. And I suppose you have to just accept that you’re seeing…you’re doing a holiday from their eyes.
“It’s like seeing them make memories, rather than…cos like, it’s only a few years ago, you’re lying on a bed, sunbed, all day.”
Later, the topic turned to autumn and the fast-approaching Halloween. Asked if Michelle enjoys it, Mark said: “Yeah, loves Halloween. She tried to call in a party at the house. I said no, cos I don’t like mess the next day.”
It comes after Mark was heard explaining how he’s been showing his support for Michelle’s ITV return. The former Coronation Street star has taken on a role as DI Emma Crane in the six-part thriller series The Blame.
The drama follows detectives from Wakestead Police Station during their inquiry into the death of a teenage figure skater. It “dives into secrets, suspicion and systemic corruption – all under the surface of a seemingly quiet town”.

Mark disclosed to Olly on a separate instalment of their show that he’d been trying to help Michelle practice her lines.
He said: “Once right, there was an emotional scene, and I was playing the other emotional character and I started going, ‘[Puts on crying voice] Well, listen, you can’t say it like that!’ And she was like, ‘What are you doing? You’re throwing me!'”
