Heroes star Hayden Panettierre, who tragically died in August following an accidental overdose, got engaged to former fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, in 2013

Hayden Panettiere’s mega money engagement ring from ex Wladimir Klitschko is missing after the late star’s tragic death, according to reports.

The Heroes star, 36, who died in August following an accidental overdose, kept the ring, said to be worth $500,000 (£377,000), after she called off her engagement to the Ukrainian politician, 50, in 2018.

After her death, Hayden’s family have reportedly been trying to find the jewellery and now believe it has been taken from her. Claiming the ring is “missing”, a source said: “Hayden’s engagement ring from Wlad that she’s held onto for all this time is missing.”

Sensationally suggesting that the sentimental item, which boasted an emerald-cut diamond, has been ‘pawned’ by someone who knew the actress, they added to US magazine: “Friends and family think that someone who was with her in her final days took it when they were pawning her things.”

The Montblanc ring was designed by Hayden, who shares an 11-year-old daughter, Kaya, with Klitschko. Recalling the design process, she told E! News in 2013: “They made me this amazing book where they did a bunch of sketches. I told them my idea over time and tweaking things here and there, it came to fruition.”

Much-loved actress, Hayden, famed for her role as cheerleader, Claire Bennett, in NBC show, Heroes, died in August aged 36 after suffering the toxic effects of multiple drugs, including fentanyl. She was found unresponsive residence in Greenville, South Carolina, where she was staying with her on-and-off again boyfriend Brian Hickerson and his brother, Zach.

A spokesperson for the Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Hayden’s death was accidental. They ruled the cause of death as an accidental overdose involving fentanyl as well as anti-anxiety medication, Alprazolam.

Following her death, Klitschko paid tribute to his former fiancée, sharing a photo of the couple with their daughter. He wrote: “Our family is going through a time of profound shock and grief.

“The announcement of Hayden’s tragic death saddens me deeply. She left this world far too soon. Hayden was, although no longer my partner, an important part of my life and the mother of our daughter, Kaya.”

On September 24, the former boxer filed an urgent petition in Los Angeles, asking to be appointed temporary guardian of Kaya’s estate. Following Hayden’s death, Kaya inherited a reported $6 million estate, and Wladimir is now ensuring that all of Hayden’s possessions are returned following the investigation into her death.

According to court documents obtained byPEOPLE, Klitschko argues that the decision needs to be made immediately because there is a risk that property belonging to the estate could be “lost, damaged or dissipated” before a personal representative is appointed.

In the filing, the father-of-one claims that Panettiere had hired security for her Los Angeles home before her death after becoming concerned that someone had gained unauthorised access to the property. He says the locks were changed and some valuables, including designer clothing, were moved.

He further alleges that he has been informed that personal belongings, including jewellery, have disappeared or remain unaccounted for.
