Amitabh Bachchan became emotional as he remembered veteran actor Nana Patekar on the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. Paying tribute to the late actor, Bachchan celebrated his exceptional acting talent, straightforward nature and dedication to social causes. Patekar passed away on October 8, leaving behind a remarkable body of work and a legacy that extended far beyond cinema.
During the show, Bachchan described Patekar as an “adwitiya kalakar” (incomparable artist), recalling the qualities that made him stand apart. He spoke about the actor’s fearlessness, humility and willingness to speak his mind without hesitation. Bachchan also remembered him as a dear friend and well-wisher, expressing how deeply his passing had affected those who knew him.
Reflecting on Patekar’s life and values, Bachchan highlighted how the actor’s honesty and simplicity defined both his personal and professional journey. He also acknowledged Patekar’s efforts to support drought-hit farmers in Maharashtra, recognising his commitment to helping people in need.
“His fearlessness, his simplicity, and his courage to call the truth exactly as it was, these qualities made him truly different from everyone else. Some people leave our lives, but their voice, their acts of compassion, and the lessons they have taught us remain within us. Nana was one of those rare people,” Bachchan said.
The veteran star also paid homage to Patekar’s dedication to his craft, praising the sincerity with which he approached his work and the lasting impression he left on audiences through his performances.“I salute the art that you lived with complete honesty and devoted wholeheartedly to all of us,” Bachchan added.
Bachchan also recalled Patekar’s remarkable philanthropic efforts, highlighting his support for drought-hit farmers across rural Maharashtra, a cause he had discussed during his appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16.
