After making its mark in theatres, DC is gearing up for its digital premiere, bringing Arun Matheswaran’s latest directorial to audiences across India. The film, which stars Lokesh Kanagaraj in the lead role alongside Wamiqa Gabbi, will begin streaming on Sony LIV from October 16. Expanding its reach beyond its original audience, the film will be available in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Blending themes of love, betrayal, loyalty and revenge, DC follows individuals navigating circumstances that challenge their beliefs and force them to confront difficult choices. With its theatrical run behind it, the film is now set to find a wider audience through its digital release.

Lokesh Kanagaraj plays an outlaw in DC

DC centres on Devadas, popularly known as Das, played by Lokesh Kanagaraj. An outlaw who follows his own moral code, Das has built his life around a set of rules that define how he operates. However, his world begins to change when he crosses paths with Parvathy, a singer whose arrival sets off a series of developments that alter the course of his life.

Meanwhile, Chandra, played by Wamiqa Gabbi, is attempting to navigate a life shaped by survival and difficult circumstances. As the lives of these characters intersect, their individual struggles become entangled in a larger conflict involving affection, fractured loyalties and the desire for revenge.

The narrative explores how people respond when their circumstances leave them with limited choices. As relationships evolve and trust comes under pressure, the characters find themselves confronting the consequences of their decisions. Rather than presenting a straightforward conflict between right and wrong, the film places its characters in situations where personal motivations and survival instincts influence their actions.

The combination of crime, emotional conflict and shifting relationships forms the backbone of the film, with the characters’ intersecting journeys driving the story forward.

Arun Matheswaran brings his vision to the screen

Written and directed by Arun Matheswaran, DC features an ensemble cast that includes Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Kasthuri Raja and Thalaivasal Vijay in prominent roles. The film brings together performers from different backgrounds, with their characters contributing to the interconnected narrative.

For Arun, the project adds another title to a filmography associated with distinctive storytelling and characters operating in morally complicated worlds. With DC, the filmmaker explores a narrative shaped by the tensions between personal loyalties, the need to survive and the consequences of revenge.

The upcoming digital premiere also gives the film an opportunity to reach viewers who may have missed its theatrical run. Making the film available in five languages allows it to connect with audiences across several regional markets, broadening its potential reach beyond its initial release.

DC will begin streaming on Sony LIV from October 16 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. With its mix of crime, drama and interpersonal conflict, the film is now preparing for its next chapter on the digital platform.
