Collin has been estranged from his mother, Kate, since 2016, when she sent him to live in a behavioral health institution for alleged behavioral issues. At the time, he was 11. In a recent interview, Collin got candid about his strained relationship with his siblings.

For the uninitiated, Collin is one of the six sextuplets, alongside Aaden, Joel, Alexis, Hannah, and Leah. He also has twin sisters, Mady and Cara. In a recent interview with Page Six, Collin shared a heartbreaking message for his seven siblings, whom he’s been estranged from for nearly a decade. Collin revealed that the last time he told ‘I love you’ to his siblings was at a reunion they had about 14 to 15 years ago.
Collin shared that it was heartbreaking to see the distance that has grown between him and his siblings over the years. According to the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star, speaking publicly about his experiences was necessary to show that what they went through as children was not healthy or normal. He said:
“I do love them very much. It’s horrible how much triangulation occurred in our home and that we were pitted against each other. I mean, how do you do that to siblings that were all born together on the same day? It’s horrible.”
The Gosselin family rose to fame with TLC’s hit reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8. The show documented the lives of Kate and Jon while they raised eight children. In the same interview, Collin clarified that even though he has had no connection with his seven siblings since 2016, his love for his brothers and sisters hasn’t changed. He said:
“I love them very much, and I want them to know that what was done to us as children is not normal. I was very broken; I was very hurt.”
In his memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, Collin wrote a heart-wrenching message for his siblings. He wrote that he sincerely loved all of them. He mentioned that no matter what had happened or what was said, no matter how things look from the outside, he still loved them. He wrote:
“I love you. I always have and always will.”
It is worth mentioning that this was not the first time that the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star publicly expressed how much he misses his siblings. Earlier, in August 2025, Collin penned a heartbreaking message to his seven siblings on TikTok. He claimed that they were forced to stay apart. Sharing a throwback photo of him and his seven siblings, Collin wrote that they were born to be a team.
