Hyderabad: NACOF India Ltd. (National Federation of Farmers’ Procurement, Processing Nand Retailing Cooperatives of India Ltd.) has served a legal notice on BRS leader and former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar over allegedly false and defamatory allegations he made against the federation at a press conference on September 17 regarding the TGSWREIS tender for food provisions and cleaning materials.
NACOF has given him seven days to withdraw the allegations, remove related videos and social media posts, and issue a formal written apology on the same platforms.
If he fails to comply, the federation will initiate civil and criminal proceedings seeking damages and injunctive relief, NACOF said. The federation rejected the allegations made by Praveen Kumar and the BRS as baseless and incorrect.
NACOF, a multi-state cooperative federation registered under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, 2002, is regulated by the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies under the Union ministry of cooperation. According to the legal notice, NACOF participated in an open, competitive e-procurement tender notified on May 22, 2026. Following a comprehensive evaluation of all bids, it was declared the lowest bidder (L1). It received a formal Letter of Award on August 19, 2026, and furnished the required performance security.
Since then, NACOF has been supplying provisions and cleaning materials to residential institutions and welfare hostels across all 33 districts of Telangana under its rate contract. The federation said every stage of the tender process was documented and alleged that Praveen Kumar had provided no evidence to substantiate his claims.
