Away from the TV sets, The Great British Bake Off host Noel Fielding is loved up with his famous partner

Noel Fielding is now loved-up with his partner and a proud dad to two kids – but years ago his love life often made the headlines…

The comedian and presenter has been a regular on screens for years, after shooting to fame in early 2000s. From The Great British Bake Off to The Mighty Boosh, Noel has remained booked and busy.

But away from the TV sets, Noel now lives a low-key life with his partner and two children. But who is his famous ex? Which younger model was he reportedly involved with? Here’s everything we know about Noel‘s love life.

Noel’s split from ex

Before his rise to fame, Noel was in a committed relationship with Dee Plume, the lead singer of Robots in Disguise. She also made minor appearances in The Mighty Boosh and in its live adaptations.

Talking about their split in 2015, Noel previously said: “I’d been going out with [her] for nine years that was like a marriage.” As Tumblr reports, he added: “I was partying too much. We’d also got stupidly famous, considering what we did.”

Dee and Noel were together for approximately 10 years, and despite his current Bake Off fame, it’s reported he was hopeless in the kitchen during their relationship in his earlier days.

Her father Ted disclosed that Noel “hardly ever cooked for my daughter”. Expressing his shock that Noel had secured the Bake Off role, Ted revealed: “All he would ever do was some pasta with some sauce. I am surprised he has got the job. He was never, ever into cooking, not in the slightest.”

Despite their separation, Dee and Noel remain close friends and she even contributed to his book, The Scribblings of a Madcap Shambleton in 2011.

Noel’s ‘age-gap fling’

In 2007, Noel was rumoured to be dating Boomtown Rats frontman Bob Geldof’s daughter, Pixie Geldof, which he has since denied. Noel was 33 years old at the time whilst Pixie was only 16-years-old and was sitting her GCSEs at the time.

The Sun reported that Noel made the following comments at the time: “She’s incredible. There’s a chemistry between us and we liked each other but she’s so much younger.

“When I first met her I had no idea who she was and that she was so young. It caused a lot of problems because her dad wanted to kill me obviously. A lot of that’s my fault for getting tempted by different things. It’s also because of groupies trying to get in my way and people pretending to be my friends.”

Noel later on again previously denied there was a romantic connection between himself and Pixie, stating that they were just friends during an appearance at the Galaxy British Book Awards

As reported by the Daily Star, Noel said: “It’s just these things are… like fairytales aren’t they? We’re just friends that’s all, but you can’t be friends in this country without someone booking a church and trying to get you married.”

Noel has been romantically involved with radio host and writer Lliana Bird for several years. The couple reportedly fell for each other in 2010 after Bird was featured in multiple episodes of The Mighty Boosh.

Much like Noel, Lliana – reputedly the longest-serving female DJ on Xfm/Radio X with 16 years on air – is highly creative. She’s released her own children’s book, Babu the Unusual Bee and she’s also ventured into the world of filmmaking; including her acclaimed short film Snapshots.

Noel and Lliana also share two daughters. The duo celebrated the arrival of their eldest, Dali, a namesake tribute to Noel’s artistic idol Salvador Dali, in the spring of 2018. And in August 2020, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Iggy.

On Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast in 2023, Lliana shared insights into their family dynamics and praised Noel for his enchanting approach to fatherhood.

Lliana said: “He kind of makes the silliest little moments, he makes having breakfast a real moment. I think I’ve just really leaned into that and just going like, ‘This is amazing. We’re getting to have porridge and it’s funny, and it’s fun. And we’re wearing silly hats, and we’re dancing. And that’s okay.’”

She added: “Maybe someone else’s kids are going to have a few more spoonfuls of porridge because it’s going to be quicker, they’re eating it properly, and digesting it properly. But, you know, my kids are having a lot of fun.”

The Great British Bake Off airs every Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4
