The Batman Part 2 has been fighting off its own set of challenges far away from Gotham. While it was kept on hold for a long bit due to multiple pre-production issues and script-writing delays, when production officially did launch, it faced a major setback.

The director, Matt Reeves, famous for several Planet of the Apes movies as well as the filmmaker for The Batman (2022), had to take a step back. This was due to having to attend to a personal family matter early in October 2026.

Now, Robert Pattinson has officially confirmed that the obstacles are in the past and that The Batman Part 2 has officially continued filming. The actor is all set to return back to the set soon and is all praise for a certain individual who has made this possible.

Steven Soderbergh, an acclaimed filmmaker and Academy Award winner, stepped up to save the day. Speaking about this decision, Robert Pattinson explained how Steven’s action was completely a selfless and generous gesture above anything else. He said, “I am so happy he’s come on to help Matt,” Robert said. “It’s incredibly generous of him, and he’s doing it in the loveliest way. It’s completely selfless.”

Not only that, but with the kind of experience and talent Steven Soderbergh will bring, it would add a great deal of value to the team’s contribution towards getting the movie ready. He continued, “I think Matt had put so much work into the script, and we’re almost done. So, for someone to come in and say, ‘I just want to help Matt do it; I want to do it in conjunction with him and just get it to the edit.’ And to have someone as talented as Steven doing it is great.”

As of now, The Batman Part 2 is scheduled for an early 2028 release, with Robert Pattinson returning as the orphaned billionaire, Bruce Wayne, aka The Batman. Also included in the cast are some big names such as Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson, who played The Winter Soldier and Black Widow in Marvel Avengers, respectively. Colin Farrell will be reprising his role as The Penguin.
