The English comedian is on trial at Southwark Crown Court, accused of three rapes, three sexual assaults, and attempted indecent assault. According to reports, Brand’s trial began on October 12, 2026, at Southwark Crown Court in London.
The person who accompanied the comedian to court every day since the trial began was Brand’s wife, Laura Gallacher. During the recent trial, Laura called Brand an amazing husband while admitting that he cheated on her.

On October 29, 2026, Russell Brand arrived at Southwark Crown Court with his wife, Laura Gallacher. The comedian was seen wearing a grey suit over a white shirt, along with a long red scarf, a rosary and aviator-style sunglasses, while Laura was wearing a navy pinstripe suit. Laura admitted in front of the court that she was well aware of her husband’s promiscuity. She said they broke up in summer 2007. She alleged it was difficult for Brand to be monogamous. She said:
“I wasn’t interested in having a relationship with him if he was sleeping with other people. I was invested; we both had told each other we loved each other, but it was clear it was difficult for him to be monogamous.”
Laura mentioned that they got back together again as a couple in 2015 and married in 2017. During the same trial, Gallacher was asked for her view of her husband’s character. She said that her husband is caring, kind, and a wonderful father to their children. The couple shares three children. She then called Brand an ‘amazing husband.’ She said:
“Russell, my husband, is caring; he is kind; he is a wonderful father to our children. He is an amazingly attentive husband. The way he treats me is that he really knows me; I feel very seen by him in every way. I love him very much.”
