Hugh Jackman served as his co-star in multiple projects across the X-Men franchise, part of Marvel. Via his socials, Hugh shared a thoughtful post reminiscing the days they shared the stage together. He captioned, “We lost one of the greats of stage and screen today. And, in my book, a tremendous friend and man. I learned so much from him. I will miss you, Patrick Stewart, all of my days.”

The universe in which he portrayed the iconic character Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, also shared a tribute post, saying, “All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart…. He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.”

His close friend and co-star for over two decades, Sir Ian McKellen, shared a beautiful note about him. He said, “Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end… He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and, in my case, love… His farewell performance in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is yet to be seen.”

The Russo Brothers, visionaries behind the MCU added to the sentiments, saying, “We’ve been lucky enough to work with some of our childhood heroes. And Sir Patrick Stewart will always be one of them… A legendary actor with an unmistakable presence, and an unmatched integrity… Sending our love to your family, friends, and fans around the world.”

William Shatner, his co-star from Star Trek said, “What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor… Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.”

Even the show The Simpsons added a small tribute post, remembering the time he guest-starred in their show, voicing ‘Number One’. “Number One, always. Thank you, Sir Patrick Stewart.”
