Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series has officially come on board for the upcoming historical film The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The ambitious two-part project will bring together Bhushan Kumar, Sandeep Singh and Rishab Shetty to tell the story of the legendary Maratha ruler and his vision of Swarajya.
To mark the collaboration, Bhushan Kumar presented Rishab Shetty with a century-old painting of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The special gesture reflected the team’s respect for the historical figure and their commitment to bringing his story to the big screen.
The film will explore important moments from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s life, including his battles, victories, sacrifices and lesser-known stories. It will also highlight his leadership, military strategies and vision of Swarajya, which continues to inspire generations.
Planned on a grand scale, the two-part film will feature a large ensemble cast and a creative team comprising talent from India and abroad. The makers aim to present the historical story in a way that connects with audiences across different generations.
Speaking about the project, producer Bhushan Kumar said, “Maharashtra and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj have given us a legacy to be proud of, and I believe it is our responsibility to honour that legacy through cinema and share it with the world.”
He further added, “When Sandeep Singh narrated ‘The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’, I felt a deep sense of responsibility to bring this extraordinary story to the big screen. With Rishab Shetty’s powerful screen presence and his ability to bring legendary figures to life, I believe we have the right combination to bring the courage, vision and spirit of Swarajya to audiences across generations.”
The film is currently in its pre-production stage, with shooting scheduled to begin in early 2027.
