HYDERABAD: Osmania University (OU) has 678 international students from 63 countries enrolled on its campus, with 160 scholarships received under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) over the past two years, according to figures released by the university.
The enrolment figures, as of October 23, include 469 male and 209 female students from countries across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East, with Yemen, Somalia, the United States, Sudan and Turkmenistan among those with significant student representation. The university also has students who are non‑resident Indians.
The 160 ICCR scholarships received over the past two years mark an increase from the four scholarships recorded earlier, according to the university.
OU’s Office of International Affairs coordinates admissions for overseas students, academic collaborations and student support. The office functions under the Vice‑Chancellor and Registrar and is responsible for facilitating the university’s engagement with international institutions and students.
The university released a brochure detailing its international student presence and related initiatives. Prof. M. Kumar released the brochure on Tuesday.
