PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers will hit the road on Wednesday when they pay a visit to the Detroit Pistons to begin a 3-game trip. This is the team’s first real road trip of the season after some one-offs in New York, Indiana, and Charlotte, and it will give Philadelphia a chance to see what its made of.
The Sixers (7-1) will face a tough Pistons (6-1) team before heading to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers and finishing up in Chicago with a rematch with the Bulls. The Pistons won 60 games in the 2025-26 season and are off to a great start in this follow-up season while the Cavaliers are coming off a season in which they reached the Eastern Conference finals and Cleveland is always emotional for LeBron James for obvious reasons.

The Sixers have won four in a row since falling to the Pistons back on Oct. 25 and James will be looking to lead Philadelphia into hostile territory to keep the streak going.
“We just want to try to continue to get better,” James said after a win over the Bulls at home on Monday. “Take that at home mentality that you play with, but also just take it on the road.”
As mentioned, the environments in Detroit and Cleveland can get rowdy. Even Chicago can be hostile even though the Bulls are in the beginning stages of a rebuild. James knows this. He has seen every single scenario a player can possibly see in this league and he’s prepared to help the Sixers get the job done on the road.
“Understanding, like, when you get on the road, you get hostile environments,” James explained. “Headed to Detroit, heading to Cleveland, and Chicago is going to be hostile environments and teams that’s—you got two teams with Detroit and Cleveland that have championship aspirations and so we got to be ready for the atmosphere and see what we got.”
The Sixers and the Pistons will tip off at 7 p.m. EST on Wednesday evening.
