Defensive lineman Peter Woods is said to be dealing with a neck injury ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs‘ Week 9 tilt with the New York Jets at Arrowhead Stadium.
Woods — who was selected by the Chiefs with the No. 29 pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft — will miss Kansas City’s practice session on Wednesday, and his status for the team’s matchup against New York is unclear.

Chiefs Senior Team Reporter Matt McMullen described Woods’ injury as a “neck stinger” and revealed his absence from Kansas City’s workouts in a post to his official Twitter account on November 4:
While Woods isn’t the Chiefs’ most accomplished defensive lineman, his presence has helped bring some much-needed stability to Kansas City’s front four, which has underperformed in recent losses to the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos in Weeks 7 and 8, respectively.
