Bill Simmons calls out Lakers’ Luka Doncic, but fails to bring up ridiculous start originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
It’s been a very impressive start for the Los Angeles Lakers and Luka Doncic, showing that he’s still arguably the best player in the world on any given night.

The Lakers are 6-2 and have to feel pretty good about what they’ve been able to do on both sides of the basketball, with Doncic continuing to prove them right about making that trade a couple of years ago, one that was an obvious one to make.
On the year, Doncic has been flat-out ridiculous offensively, scoring at least 37 points in each of his last five games. He also has a 52-point performance in that stretch.
However, because of his playstyle and the attitude that he shows on the court sometimes, some still don’t love what the Slovenian superstar has been able to do. That includes Bill Simmons, who had a ridiculous take about his behavior during the game.
“I think the guy is brilliant, I think he’s one of the best offensive players I have ever seen in my life,” Simmons said, H/T Clutch Points. “But it’s not a new take to say that his behavior during games has been a little insufferable.

“I think this is the most insufferable he’s ever been. I can’t believe how he behaves for two and a half hours at these games, and I don’t know one person who enjoys it.”
While Doncic’s attitude can certainly rub people the wrong way, this is a guy averaging 38.3 points per game and shooting 49.7% from the field and 42.7% from 3-point range.
Unless he’s out there trying to fight everybody he sees or is trying to cause physical altercations with the fans, I don’t think any Lakers executive, coach, or player really cares what type of attitude he has.
