The Minnesota Vikings‘ offense has struggled mightily through seven games in 2026. Despite their 6-1 record, the offense ranks 29th in yards and 27th in points. Although the running game hasn’t been efficient enough (tied for 26th in EPA/rush), the passing game hasn’t been much better (24th in EPA/pass).
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky appeared on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday and pointed out that the Vikings’ passing-game struggles date back to the start of the 2025 season.

“Since Sam Darnold left Minnesota, as a team, [they have] the worst QBR in football,” Orlovsky said. “So no, this is not just Kyler [Murray]. Okay. We’ve had multiple quarterbacks play in the situation. It’s not just him right now. This offense, on a drive-by-drive basis, is the worst offense in football. They averaged 24 yards per drive with [Jordan] Addison, [Justin] Jefferson, [T.J.] Hockenson, [Christian] Darrisaw, and Aaron Jones, who’s still plenty capable.”
Murray’s status for Monday’s game against the Buffalo Bills is in question after Kevin O’Connell told reporters on Monday that the quarterback is dealing with a sore hamstring. If Murray can’t play, then Carson Wentz will return to the lineup for his second start of the season and his seventh since the beginning of last year.
Regardless of who is under center, O’Connell and his staff have to fix things fast if they want to do any damage in the playoffs.
