Salman Khan is gearing up for his next theatrical release, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace, which has been generating considerable buzz among moviegoers. Ahead of the film’s trailer launch, fresh reports suggest that the makers have locked a release date for the upcoming project. If the reports are accurate, the film will arrive in theatres on November 20.
Although the makers are yet to make a formal announcement, November 20 is reportedly being considered as the film’s confirmed theatrical release date. The development has also sparked interest in its box-office prospects, particularly with several big-ticket films lined up around the same period. These include Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana and Sunny Deol’s Suryaa. The reported release date also places Maatrubhumi ahead of Shah Rukh Khan’s King, which is expected to arrive in theatres in December.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace is backed by Salman Khan Films. The film stars Salman Khan alongside Chitrangda Singh and is reportedly centred on an emotionally driven narrative, with family relationships forming an important part of the story.
The subject is said to hold personal significance for Salman, who is reportedly keen on bringing the story to the big screen. While details about the plot have largely remained under wraps, the upcoming trailer is expected to offer a better understanding of the characters and the film’s central conflict.
Meanwhile, the makers are set to unveil the trailer of Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace today at approximately 6 pm. The launch event is taking place in Mumbai, where the team is expected to offer a first glimpse into the film’s world, storyline and overall treatment.
With the trailer launch around the corner and a possible November 20 release date doing the rounds, all eyes are now on the makers’ official announcement.
Earlier this week, Salman Khan lent his voice to ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’, a song released as part of the film’s promotional campaign. However, questions have been raised about its relevance to the film and its overall narrative.
