Cowboys vs. Colts prediction: Everything is on the line for Brian Schottenheimer

Dallas is in desperate need of a win on Sunday.

They face a Colts team that completely caved last week against a divison rival the Jaguars in a ridiculous 30-point blowout loss.

The Cowboys are just 5.5-point favorites on the road against a Colts team that looked ready to shutter their doors last week.

The league is week-to-week, though, and it’s entirely possible that the Colts come in with renewed energy this week, but I’m not counting on that.

Cowboys vs. Colts prediction, best bet

Indianapolis appears likely to trade Jonathan Taylor ahead of next week’s NFL trade deadline, which will undoubtedly curb the team’s optimism, even if the team is supposed to carry forward as professionals.

In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising if Taylor sees limited action this week as a result of the ongoing trade discussions as they look to preserve their asset value. An injury would be detrimental to the team’s long term outlook if they do indeed intend to trade him.

The Colts on the defensive side aren’t good to begin with and that was before Sauce Gardner went down with an injury and DeForest Buckner was traded.

Add in that fact, and we’re looking at a potential Dak Prescott showcase game.

The Colts are allowing 7.4 yards per pass attempt, fourth worst in the league and they’re rated No. 27 in defensive DVOA.

Betting on the NFL?

That’s truly poor results from the Colts, and the Cowboys will roll over them on Sunday.

For betting purposes, target Lamb to go over 79.5 receiving yards as their primary playmaker that is near the top of the league in separation rate and yards per route run.

PREDICTION: Lamb over 79.5 receiving yards (-116, DraftKings) + Cowboys moneyline
