Scarlette, who also appeared on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2022 and currently hosts Can’t Sell, Must Sell as well as Worst House on the Street, previously opened up about freezing her eggs and “never imagined” she would still be child-free in her late thirties.

While appearing on ITV’s Lorraine, she told guest host Christine Lampard: “I never thought I’d be 37 with no man, no husband, and no baby.” She continued: “Being a career-driven woman is fantastic but I do want to have a family so I have to take my future into my own hands and prepare myself for having kids at a later date.”

“I, of course, would love to have a child naturally but that might not be the case so egg-freezing is something had to be done as a backup.”

The TV star admitted that she only grasped the enormity of what she was undertaking when she began the egg preservation process, leading her to question why she hadn’t considered it earlier.

She shared: “I wasn’t prepared at all, if I’m honest. I had looked into it but until you actually get there and you get given all of the medication.

“That moment for me was so overwhelming because I realised I’d have to be injecting myself every day to get to a point where my eggs are healthy enough to take out.”

“When you hit 35, the egg count starts to decrease and the quality of the eggs start to decrease as well. I wondered why I hadn’t done this earlier in life.”

Prior to that, Scarlette made some candid comments about her her ‘mental month’ as she geared up for motherhood, sharing her experiences with her followers on social media. At 37, she has been open and honest about her journey of freezing her eggs and recently disclosed why she felt like the timing was perfect.

While at the Ideal Home Show, Scarlette explained: “I have no more excuses. I have to get it done and future-proof as much as possible. I didn’t realise that at 35, not only do our eggs diminish in terms of how many we have, but the quality of them too.”
