HYDERABAD: A complaint at the CM Praja Vani here highlighted the plight of a Class IV student unable to secure an Aadhaar card due to errors in her parents’ birth certificates, jeopardising her education and access to basic services.
Sai Krupa, a student of Nandanavanam Government School in Karmanghat, approached the public grievance forum on Friday after repeated difficulties in obtaining the document. Officials noted that “unless this correction is made, the child cannot get an Aadhaar card,” referring to a discrepancy where her parents’ surname appears as ‘S’ instead of ‘M’ in their birth records.
Authorities said the mistake must be corrected before Aadhaar can be issued. Directions were given to GHMC officials to rectify the certificates and process the application. Sai Krupa’s parents, Lazar and Vinoda, work as construction labourers, and the delay has left the child without access to services that require Aadhaar.
The case came up among 248 applications received during the 216th CM Praja Vani session at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan. Officials reviewed complaints across departments, including panchayat raj, revenue and housing, and addressed several grievances through direct calls to departments.
